Ascend Elements opens $50 million EV battery recycling plant in Georgia
Ascend Elements says it has opened its first commercial-scale lithium-ion battery recycling facility in the state of Georgia, Kallanish reports.
The $50 million, 154,000-square-foot plant is located in Covington, Georgia. It began partial operations last August and now has the capacity to process 30,000 tonnes/year. That equates to 70,000 electric vehicles batteries, says the Massachusetts-based company.
