ArcelorMittal France to boost steel capacity for electric cars
ArcelorMittal is to invest €300 million ($330m) in a new facility at its Mardyck site in northern France. Scheduled to open in 2024, the new plant will produce 200,000 tonnes a year of electrical steel products for the engines of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrid vehicles.
The project will add to the steelmaker’s electrical steel plant in Saint-Chély d’Apcher, southern France.
