Anglo American presents H2-powered mine haul truck solution
Anglo American unveiled on Friday the prototype of the world’s largest hydrogen-powered mine haul truck, which the miner will deploy at its Mogalakwena PGM mine in South Africa.
The 2-megawatt hydrogen-battery hybrid truck has a 290-tonne payload capacity and will generate more power than its diesel predecessor. The vehicle will be equipped with a 1.2 megawatt-hour battery pack, and fuel cells will deliver up to 800 kilowatts of power, Kallanish reports.
