Airbus plans first H2 aircraft demonstration flight in 2025

Airbus is teaming up with engine producer CFM International (CFM) to boost the development of a hydrogen demonstration aircraft that will perform its first flight in 2025. The French aircraft maker plans to put the first hydrogen plane in operation by 2035, Kallanish notes. An A380 flying testbed with liquid hydrogen tanks will be used for the demonstration in 2025. Airbus will provide the A380 platform to test the hydrogen combustion engine in cruise phase. …
