AESC starts construction in South Carolina gigafactory
Japanese battery manufacturer AESC, formerly known as Envision AESC, has started construction of its third US gigafactory – a 30-gigawatt-hour plant in Florence County, South Carolina.
The groundbreaking was celebrated in an event with company representatives, as well as local and state officials. The project is set to create 1,170 new jobs and start commercial production in 2026.
