Ron Krupitzer has over 40 years experience in the steel and automotive industries. He currently runs his own consulting and advisory company. Prior to this Ron spent 13 years at the American Iron and Steel Institute as VP of Automotive Market working closely with both the steel and automotive industry and led the automotive program of the Steel Market Development Institute. Before that he worked at Chrysler for 15 years in the field of Materials engineering, including high tech steels applications, stamping and welding operations. Ron started his career in the flats steel and rolling industries and worked in various positions for companies like Republic Steel and LTV Steel. His specialities include: metallurgy, process control, engineering specifications, quality systems, union relations, process continuous improvement, steelmaking, welding, forming, marketing

Dr. Edward P. Becker, P.I., has over 35 years of experience in Materials Science, Metallurgy and Engineering. He runs his own consulting and advisory company Friction & Wear, LLC. Prior to that he spent over 20 years with GM’s Powertrain division as a senior materials engineer. He also has experience in supplier networks and relationships within GM and a number of previous auto industry roles. He holds numerous publications and patents in the areas of friction and wear reduction. He is also a Past President and Fellow of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) and frequently teaches advanced subjects for STLE and the Engineering Society of Detroit. He is both a mechanical and metallurgical engineer by education and is member of numerous professional associations including the American Society for Metals and MENSA. He lives in Brighton, MI.

Gene Waara recently retired after more than 35 years with General Motors, all in Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. He traveled Globally as the Steel Team leader developing procurement strategies and negotiating annual contracts with the steel industry that valued in excess of $5 Billion. His expertise in Global Steelmaking and Steel Mill capabilities is widely recognized. While responsible for the Automotive Industries first steel resale program, he grew the program to include steel for over 8,000 North American parts. Additional commodity expertise was developed through assignments and global travel as related to Rare Earths, Foundry Alloys, Magnesium Resale, and the sale and procurement of Foundry Scrap.
