Trinh graduated from RMIT University with a major in Finance and Economics. She joined Rong Viet Securities in 2015 to cover building materials, construction and technology. Trinh actively monitors both listed and private steel stocks in the Vietnamese market and has made accurate forecasts and successful recommendations on a number of steel stocks. She also covers plastic pipe producers, construction contractors, telecommunication and technology firms in the Vietnamese stock market, most of which are the leading firms in their domestic industries. 

Subhendu is Managing Director for Duferco Asia, based in Singapore. He has dealt with all major markets worldwide, both as a producer and as a trader. An engineer with a MBA, Subhendu has been in the steel industry since 1991, holding several positions. He has worked at Tata Steel for 10 years, at Mittal Steel for 5 years and at Duferco Switzerland for 5 years before he moved to Asia where he has been leading all Duferco operations since 2009. 

Amit is heading the Sales of coated products at AM/NS India. AM/NS India is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, two of the world’s leading steel companies. AM/NS encourages entrepreneurial spirit in the workplace and has taken structured initiatives to nurture young talents for leadership roles. Amit joined the organization as a management trainee in 2008 and has grown within the organization to reach a leadership position. He has been instrumental in getting AM/NS India brand recognised worldwide. In his earlier role as Export Sales Head, he was credited with developing key export markets for highly demanding customer segments like automotive, renewable energy, construction and mining. He has been instrumental in getting international accreditation for the organization’s products for Oil and Gas and ship building segments.  Amit has expanded organisation’s reach in highly niche and diverse segments & geographies. He is admired in the industry for his in-depth knowledge of the market, outstanding customer relationship and proficiency of building long terms partnership models with the clients. Amit drives AMNS India’s strategic goals by enhancing end user and channel partner base by utilizing his networking acumen. He is well-travelled, tech-savvy, a social media influencer and an avid supporter of digitalization. Amit has been a regular speaker at international steel conferences and management institutes. He has been providing his valued inputs to Indian Govt and Indian steel association in important matters of international trade agreements and trade barriers.

Gorkem received his master's degree in Management of Business Administration in 2002 from La Salle University, Philadelphia, USA. He started his career in the US, working in multinational companies such as Saint Gobain. Later, he went on to work in the stock market fortune 500 company SEI Investments as a mutual fund trader in the US. In 2005, he took a challenge in the steel industry and started to work for steel producers as an executive for export markets. Then, he was appointed as a director of the steel desk of LN metals, a commodity trading company in London. In 2012, Gorkem founded Galex Steel International -- a trading house mainly focused on flat steel products and exports to Europe, Turkey, South America, Middle East and Far East. Galex represents reputable government and private mills from China, India and Turkey on regional or project basis. The company covers global markets through its offices in Turkey, China, India and Russia.

Hai Phan is an expert on mining, metals and construction business in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. He has been the CEO of Ferominco since 2010 and represented Trafigura on steel-making raw materials, non-ferrous and mining products. He is now acting as Southeast Asia consultant of business strategy and steel sourcing for Tata International.

Derek is the Head of Research at Simpson Spence Young (SSY), one of the largest shipbroking organisations in the world, which has specialist teams working in 18 offices across the globe. Derek coordinates SSY’s analysis of the shipping markets and, in addition to staff based in SSY’s London office, is also responsible for research staff in Singapore. The focus of Derek’s analysis is the dry bulk shipping sector, where he specialises in trade flow analysis and fleet developments.

Nhat Nguyen started his career in steel in 2011 as Site Engineer at Danieli Corporation in USA, at an OCTG pipe plant in Youngstown, Ohio. Nhat graduated from Iowa State University with a major in Mechanical engineering and a minor in Business. He is currently the Director of Export Sales at Ton Dong A Corp. (TDA), where he joined 7 years ago. He started his career at TDA as Project Engineer taking care of project coordination for Ton Dong A-Thu Dau Mot's new plant. His team worked closely with technology providers and contractors from tendering to project execution for the 850,000-metric-ton coating facility. After completing the first phase of Ton Dong A-Thu Dau Mot plant in 2015, Nhat was assigned as Export Sales Team Leader in TDA export sales department. Since then, Nhat has been developing TDA’s higher quality galvalume products to new markets such as America, Australia, and Europe as well as maintaining share in the traditional ASEAN market.

Tomas is the Managing Editor Asia for Kallanish and produces editorial content on the region, with a focus on China, as well as overseeing Kallanish's operations in East Asia. He is based in Shanghai, where he has lived and worked for the last six years. Tomas speaks Mandarin as well as English and Spanish. He has also spent three years in Beijing studying and working. Previously, Tomas worked at Steel Business Briefing, where he joined shortly after graduating with a masters degree in Asian politics from SOAS in London.

Trinh Khoi Nguyen holds a Bachelor degree in Electricity from the Thai Nguyen University of Technology and a Bachelor degree in Business Management from Hanoi University of Science and Technology. For more than 30 years he has worked as an officer of the Vietnam Steel Corporation in various positions. Firstly as officer, then Deputy Director, then Director of Investment and Development. Currently, he holds the position of Vice-President at Vietnam Steel Corporation.

Keyvan is the owner and CEO of Jame Tejarat Company (JTC) since its establishment in 2002. He has been exporting minerals and steel value chain products especially iron ore, concentrate, HBI, steel products to various markets, but mainly to China and ASEAN countries, for about 20 Years. He has 32 years solid experience in the field of mining production & export of commodities. He was a Member of the Board & Head of International Affairs of IROPEX (Iranian Iron Ore Producers & Exporters Association) from 2012 up to 2017. Keyvan has a Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering, Masters degree in Medical Engineering and MBA and Phd. in Radiology from Iranian Reputable Government Universities and numerous post-graduation courses in Mining, Steel & Management Fields from Iranian & Foreign Universities. Currently, he is a Professor & Senior Analyst in International Economy and Commodities and has numerous articles published in Iranian & International Websites, News Agencies & Media. Keyvan had 158th successful attendance as Keynote S., Speaker or panelist in International Overseas Conferences Worldwide during the past Decade.

Jiang Li is the market research team manager and chief market analyst of Baosteel, where she has been with for over 20 years. Ms. Jiang spent half a year in 2001 at World Steel Dynamics as a visiting analyst. She has been invited to work as a fellow at Economics department of World Steel Association from June 2007 to Dec 2008. Now she is an active member and regular contributor at Economics Committee of World Steel Association. Jiang Li has a M.S. in Business Management and a B.A. degree in Management Science from Fudan University, China.

Edric joined the LME in 2014 and is based in our Singapore office, where he is Head of Corporate Sales in Asia. He has many years of experience in commodity price risk management. Previously, he worked at Mizuho Bank and was responsible for marketing commodity derivatives and advising hedging strategies to corporate customers. Prior to that, he worked for a world-renowned airline, managing their jet fuel risk book. Edric delivers our bespoke training courses in the Asia-Pacific region.

Enrique studied Industrial engineer at the UAM in Mexico City and postgraduate studies in finance at Harvard University. He started his career in 1983 in Thyssen Carbometal NY as a trader in raw materials. He held various positions while at Thyssen, working in Germany, USA and Mexico. His last post was as Managing Director of Thyssen Mexico. Enrique joined Altos Hornos of Mexico (AHMSA), as Chief Commercial Officer in 1992. Then, in 2002 Enrique joined the Ferrostaal group in Houston TX as the Chief Commercial Officer. His last position was CEO of Coutinho Ferrostaal in the Americas. In 2012, Enrique started XSTEEL USA. Through a series of mergers and commercial alliances, XSteel USA has been successful in positioning itself within the US, Latin America, Europe and Asia as a reliable trading company specialized in special steels, aluminum, stainless steel and value added products as well as structured trade activities.

Harold is the Senior Vice President of NU STEEL Pte Ltd, a local steel company based in Singapore. Harold has a MA in Marketing Management from Macquarie University, Sydney, and started his career with BHP Steel Asia Pte Ltd in 1980 – as General Manager responsible for export and trading of a wide range of Flat and Long products in ASEAN including India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He held various positions while at BHP, had extensive global marketing experience and was also responsible for sale of raw materials for steel making. He was assigned to NS BlueScope Coated Steel as Regional Vice President – Strategic Sourcing, managing the sourcing of flat steel products including Supply Chain for NS BlueScope operations in ASEAN including USA. His last post was with JFE MERANTI Myanmar Holding Pte Ltd, as the Strategic Advisor.

Rahul brings extensive experience in multiple markets to his role as Head of Projects Planning & Corporate Development at General Nice Resources Group, and previously with the affiliated Abterra Resources. Goel has been based throughout Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. He is also a Director for the India-based companies of GNR and has previously sat on the board as Executive Director for the ASX listed Pluton Resources limited (PLV) and Non-Executive director for Irvine island Finance Corporation Ltd. He is currently based in Hong Kong and his responsibilities include the operations and development relating to trade and investment in the coal, coke, iron ore and steel sectors with a primary sales focus in the Chinese market. He is also a Director at Capital Investment Partners, in Australia and Canada, who have some significant positions in some Canadian mining assets. Prior to General Nice Group, Goel served at Adani Group as senior trader for iron ore, steel and scrap business. Goel is a commerce graduate and also holds an MBA degree in marketing with specialization in International Business.

Hiroyuki reports on Japanese steel mills export sales and oversea business strategy. Hiroyuki started work in Japan Metal Daily (JMD) from 2005. JMD publishes around 70,000 daily papers and is the largest newspaper focused on steel and non-ferrous industry. Usually Hiroyuki works in Tokyo, but researches not only domestic companies such as NSC or JFE, but also various regions including SE Asia, East Asia, Europe, USA, Brazil, Middle East and Africa.

Xiaojun is an Analyst at Trafigura, a market leader in the global commodities industry. As analyst for the bulk commodity research, he is responsible for helping to shape the company’s views on ferrous and coal markets and the economic outlook, with a particular focus on China. Prior to that role, Xiaojun spent over 3 years in the coal department of the company, covering responsibilities in operations, risk management and trading.

Baldev is the head of the Energy, Resources & Infrastructure team at Singapore law firm, JTJB. He is dual qualified in Singapore and England with more than 13 years of international experience. He has particular expertise in the Energy & Commodity sector, where he assists with trade contracts/ finance, as well as international trade disputes. He is particularly active in the South East Asian markets where he acts for foreign investors, financiers, international companies, and conglomerates. Baldev is recognised as a trailblazer in the legal sector: he was nominated as Asia’s top “40 under 40” lawyers by Asian Legal Business, as one of 20 rising Singapore legal luminaries in the Singapore Business Review and in Prestige Magazine’s annual list of leaders. He is also ranked for his work in international arbitration and trade by the legal directories of Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation and Who’s Who Legal.

Aye Thiha has been contributing to the development of the Myanmar Steel. Currently as the General Secretary of Myanmar Iron and Steel Association (MISA), he has been pushing forth Industrial Standards for Steel products and working together with the Japanese and Thai steel community in this regard. Aye Thiha entered the steel sector in 2013 with a JV with Millcon Steel of Thailand - to set up a construction materials distribution business - Millcon Thiha Limited (MTL), where he is currently the CEO. Aye Thiha also set up the first Steel Pipe factory together with Millcon Steel and General Engineering Limited. Prior to this Aye Thiha’s experiences include over 8 years in Investment Banking in New York, with the last position of Director at UBS, prior to moving back to Myanmar in 2012. Aye Thiha’s holds a Masters degree in Finance and Economics from London School of Economics, a Masters degree in Economics from New York University and a Bachelors degree from Boston College. Aye Thiha is also a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and will be an Executive Committee member for the Yangon Chapter starting in July 2019.

Nghiem Xuan Da holds a Bachelor degree in Industrial Economy Mines from Moscow State Mining University and MSC in Finance from University of London and a Bachelor of Law from Hanoi Law University. Nghiem Xuan Da is the President of Vietnam Steel Corporation and Chairman of Vietnam Steel Association (VSA). Prior to this, he has held the positions of Chairman, CEO, Vice-President, Chief Accountant and Director of Accounting at Vietnam Steel Corporation.
